It's the time of my Life!

The Disney college program is seriously, thee best decision I've ever made in my life! It's everything I expected it to be, and more! I love my role, I love my roommates, the discounts we get, the privileges we get with getting in the parks for free, I love it all! I've only been here a little over a week, and my life has changed drastically, in an amazing way!
My roomie Jessica and I, now understand that when people enter the program, they disappear from their blogs/vlogs; it's very time consuming here. I have not yet had a day where I had nothing to do. So where do I work you may be wondering?....At the wonderful World of Disney (WOD) Store in Downtown Disney (DTD)!!

Second largest Disney store in the nation, largest in California. I love it so much, and I am offically done training. Today will be my 3rd day without training, and i'm doing fairly well!
The people i've met here are amazing. My roomies: Jessica, Clara, and Annie. They rock. To all the people i've met and hung out with so far: Emily, Erin, Alara, Yakkis, Travis, Jimmy, Corey, Patrick, Angelica, and many others. All awesome individuals.

The new summer Nightastic events are so wonderful. The new fireworks "Magical" gave me chills. I am so proud to call myself a cast member for the Disneyland Resort, and to be part of such a great company, and the magic."The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. " ~Walt Disney

The Magic Begins

This is it. I leave tomorrow. I cannot believe it arrived so fast, but I am so ready and unbelieveably excited! I've been having family and friends over a lot in the past few days. They all want to spend time with me before I head off, but this is making butterfiles build in my stomach. Nerves are normal, but I think mine is more anxiety than nervous. I am so ready to be on my own, make a living, and just enjoy life!

I am also very lucky, because unlike people driving in or flying out of state, I only have to make an hour and a half drive to the park and my new apartment, and I kind of know what to expect because I've seen the apartment complexes a couple of times. I also have a roommate picked out, her name is Jessica. We planned to room together and we both requested each other in the roommate email Disney sent us. After talking to her for weeks online, it will be exciting to finally meet her in person! I'm stoked and raring to go! I am ready to eat, sleep, and breathe Disney, watch out Mickey Mouse.... I'm coming to work for YOU! :D

Purple Pixie Dust!

Today was absolutely wonderful! I feel as though I was sprinkled with an extra dose of pixie dust today! Lets see...where shall I start? Well for starters, today was the last day of the semester, I'm free from school and I have completed yet another semester of college! Woo! Second, I went to buy back my books. I had to wait a half hour in line to do so, but it was well worth it in the end! I ended up earning $151 buckaroos for my books! That is more spending money for my CP, saweet! And third...what came in today when I got home from already being extremely happy?

OH YEA!
The best piece of mail I've ever received in my life, that pretty purple folder with my acceptance letter! So over all, today was amazing and I could not stop smiling (which let me tell you, is rare! xP ) I am so excited and granted I will miss my family, but I am so ready to leave! Begin this wonderful fairytale-like chapter. There are two other love of my lifes that I will miss dearly...our dogs Jack and Cleo. Pictures will sustain me and keep me from being homesick. I won't be that far anyways, however gas and mileage on my truck might disagree with me. Now for the first time in a few months, I can sleep in, not worry about another exam, paper, or assignment...for a few months anyway.
This past weekend me and a few friends went to see UP! in 3D! We really enjoyed it, I felt it had all the emotional aspects: funny, adventurous, and sentimental. I hear that most were disappointed with the story line, and that it didn't have a happy ending. Well I thought it did, I loved it. Russell is the cutest thing! Plus we thought the 3D glasses were pretty attractive, haha.

Pleasant Surprises!

So I had been told that I would find out my role when I arrived on June 18. Well to my surprise when I checked my email today...I got it, my role. Merchandise! It was one of my top three choices so I'm happy, w00t! I would love to work in a store on Main Street or New Orleans Square (yea, keep dreaming Alex!) But that's the beauty of Disney, I can dream! I also got my Disney Main St. magazine in the mail yesterday, and it gave the scoop on Disneyland's new Summer Nightastic! I'm so excited about it, and to be working at the park while this is going on, bonus! The Electrical parade (aka my all time favorite parade) is coming back, and to top it off, Tinkerbell is added and leading the parade. Excited much? Very much.

The countdown at this very moment is 13 days...my goodness that is crazy fast! I'm in the process of packing atm, and I'm not going to lie, it's stressing me out. But I'll get through it, I work best under pressure. Little under 2 weeks...The Happiest Place on Earth is going to be my new home!

It all started with a Mouse....and a phone call!

It began on May 5, 2009. I decided to apply for the Disney college program for the Fall of 09. I hadn't realized how late I was applying, but decided to go for it anyways! It was the most accelerating 2 weeks of my life! Now I was one lucky s.o.batch of cookies. I had applied, interviewed, and got accepted, all within a matter of 2 weeks!! Other participants wait much longer for a response, so I was very blessed. And now I am an official cast member at Disneyland, for the next 7 months. (*squee*) I had my phone interview on May 7th. I had already done this, when I first applied for the Spring of 09, but I was still just as nervous! The call lasted a good 20min, and I felt I had done really well! Apparently the interviewer thought so too, because she told me I was cutting it close with applying so late, but I was a really good candidate for the program. She told me that if for any reason I didn't make it this time, to definitely apply for the Spring of 2010. At this point, I had mixed feelings. Great that I was considered good enough, and disappointed, that I might not get in this time around. So then I started prepping myself to apply for the Spring. Then it happened! I had gotten a phone call on May 14th, and it was a recruiter from the program. He congratulated me on being accepted into the program, and poor guy, I about screamed into the phone for a few seconds, but he was nice enough to celebrate with me. :)

Words cannot express how excited and happy I am, but my actions sure did. I haven't yet received my pretty purple folder, but one thing I can assume for sure.... it is coming!!!
Until then, i'm ready for the adventure, the experience of a lifetime!
